Personal safety doesn't begin with a firearm—it begins with awareness. Since 2014, April Skye Defense Tactics has been helping everyday people develop the knowledge, confidence, and mindset to better protect themselves and those they love. Training emphasizes situational awareness, conflict avoidance, responsible firearm ownership, and practical skills that apply to real-life situations. Whether you need a Court ordered firearm class, you're a first-time gun owner, a new shooter, or an experienced firearm enthusiast, students of all skill levels are welcome. Every class is designed to provide a professional, supportive, and encouraging learning environment where confidence grows through education and hands-on training.
Court Ordered Firearm Classes ($60.00 payments available)
Our Court-Ordered Firearm Safety Class is designed for individuals who have been required by a court, attorney, or probation officer to complete firearms safety training. The course offered via Zoom covers safe firearm handling, secure storage, legal responsibilities, conflict avoidance, and responsible firearm ownership in a professional, judgment-free learning environment.
Students are encouraged to ask questions specific to their individual situation, allowing for a better understanding of the laws, responsibilities, and safe practices that may apply to their circumstances. While this course is educational in nature and does not provide legal advice, our goal is to help every student leave with greater confidence, knowledge, and a clear understanding of responsible firearm ownership.
Upon successful completion, students receive documentation of attendance or completion, when applicable, for submission to the requesting agency, attorney, probation officer, or court.
If payment option is selected certificate will be issued when class is paid in full.
California Concealed Carry Permit Classes
Whether you're applying for your first California Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permit or renewing an existing permit, these classes meet California training requirements while emphasizing safe firearm handling, legal responsibilities, situational awareness, and responsible concealed carry. Students receive professional instruction in a welcoming environment designed to build confidence and prepare them for everyday carry.
Firearms Training – All Levels
Whether you've never handled a firearm before or have years of shooting experience, personalized instruction is available for every skill level. Training is tailored to each student's goals and focuses on firearm safety, marksmanship fundamentals, defensive skills, confidence building, and continued development.
Women & Family Firearm Safety
Designed for women, families, and new firearm owners, these classes focus on safe firearm handling, secure storage, accident prevention, and developing confidence around firearms. The goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where students can ask questions, gain knowledge, and build practical skills without feeling intimidated.
Defensive Pistol
Defensive Pistol training moves beyond basic target shooting by emphasizing practical skills for real-world defensive situations. Students work on presentation from the holster (where appropriate), movement, reloads, malfunction clearing, defensive accuracy, and decision-making while reinforcing safe gun handling throughout the course.
Church & Workplace Safety
These classes focus on personal safety, situational awareness, emergency planning, and responsible response during critical incidents. Training is designed to help individuals, churches, businesses, and organizations develop a greater understanding of preparedness, communication, and safety strategies before an emergency occurs.
Emergency First Aid
Knowing what to do in the first few minutes of an emergency can save a life. Emergency First Aid classes provide practical instruction on responding to common medical emergencies, controlling bleeding, treating injuries, and caring for someone until professional medical help arrives.
